Knowing what to expect makes getting started a little easier.
How does pricing and payment work?
Design packages have a flat fee, agreed before work begins. A 50% deposit books your project, with the balance due at delivery. The $125 consultation fee is credited toward a design package booked within 30 days. Add-ons are quoted separately.
Who purchases the furniture and materials?
You do, using your curated shopping list. You stay in control of the purchases, budget and timing. Northwoods Interiors does not finance or resell materials.
Can we work together remotely?
Yes. Photos, measurements and a video walkthrough help us understand your home. In-person services cover Ontonagon, Houghton, Baraga and Gogebic counties, with travel confirmed during your discovery call.
What should I bring to our first conversation?
A few photos, approximate room dimensions, your budget range and a sense of what isn’t working. You don’t need to have your style figured out; that is part of the process.
Do you coordinate with contractors?
Vendor and project coordination is available at $85 per hour. Design documents communicate the intended look and layout; licensed professionals handle regulated architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing and HVAC work.
How long does a design take?
Consultation notes are typically provided within days. Full packages are generally delivered in phases over two to four weeks, with your schedule and milestones confirmed in the proposal.
